Why was quota sampling used in Cumbria?
We wanted to make sure that there is representation of the different ages, genders, ethnicities and disabilities within Cumbria’s population in the people who answer the survey. We set quotas for the number of people to be surveyed from different groups which reflected their proportion of the population. This is called ‘quota sampling’.
Differences in confidence levels in these groups have been gathered and will be analysed to find out whether any particular issues affect specific groups of people.
