Help tackle anti-social behaviour in Carlisle
Shoppers in Carlisle, will be given the opportunity to discuss anti-social behaviour issues in their neighbourhood, and suggest how the Police can tackle the problems, at a community engagement session held by Cumbria Police Authority.
Cumbria Police Authority will host two community engagement sessions in the city at the Lanes Shopping Centre, on the 23rd April 2010, and Asda Store, Chandler Way, on 27 April 2010, between 10:30am and 2:30pm.
The Police Authority is responsible for making sure that Cumbria Constabulary is effective at fighting crime and provides value for money so have arranged the sessions to engage further with the local community, find out their views and provide them with the information they most want.
Chairman of Cumbria Police Authority, Ray Cole, said: “Tackling crime and anti-social behaviour successfully depends partly on the support of members of the public coming forward to provide the intelligence that police need to identify perpetrators. It is important that we are aware of the issues that affect people living in our areas, and listen to their suggestions on how to target the problems they face.
"Cumbria Police Authority is keen to find out about the issues that affect individual communities, and want neighbourhood police officers to continue focussing on anti-social behaviour as a priority. We hope these sessions will give people a voice and provide an opportunity for local residents to tell us how the Constabulary is responding to the issues that matter most in their neighbourhood."
