Help tackle anti-social behaviour in Workington
People in Workington will be given the opportunity to suggest how the Police can tackle anti-social- behaviour at a community engagement session held by Cumbria Police Authority.
Cumbria Police Authority will host two sessions in the town at Morrisons supermarket in Derwent Howe and at Debenhams Department Store in Workington town centre on Tuesday 23rd March between 9:30am and 12:00 noon.
The Police Authority is responsible for making sure that Cumbria Constabulary is effective at fighting crime and provides value for money so have arranged the sessions to engage further with the local community, find out their views and provide them with the information they most want.
Chairman of Cumbria Police Authority, Ray Cole, said: “Tackling crime and anti-social behaviour successfully depends partly on the support of members of the public coming forward to provide the intelligence that police need to identify perpetrators. The community in Workington has told us that tackling anti-social-behaviour is one of their priorities and this exercise will provide the opportunity for members of Cumbria Police Authority to talk to people about the issues that affect their neighbourhood, and listen to their suggestions on how to target the problem.
“Cumbria Police Authority is keen to find out about the issues that affect individual communities, and want neighbourhood police officers to continue focussing on anti-social behaviour as a priority. We hope these sessions will give people a voice and provide an opportunity for local residents to tell us how the Constabulary is responding to the issues that matter most in their neighbourhood.”
