The Crime and Performance Committee was perviously known as the Policing Plan and Performance Committee. It meets four times during the year and consists of nine members.
The purpose of the committee is to scrutinise the effectiveness of the Constabulary in reducing crime and disorder, responding effectively to incidents and protecting peole from harm.
It receives quarterly reports which show whether crime and anti-social behaviour are being reduced, whether the Constabulary is maintaining a good quality of service and scrutinises police performance in areas of protective services. The Committee also assess the community impact from high-risk policing activity to reduce the effect/community disruption to maintain trust and community confidence in policing. It will also positively encourage and develop all aspects of partnership working including scrutiny of performance of the same.
