This section tells you about what Cumbria Police Authority does.

Cumbria Police Authority is one of 43 police authorities in England and Wales.  It is responsible for the overseeing of the police service in Cumbria and setting the budget for Cumbria Constabulary.  For more details see the "Role and Functions" section.

To carry out its roles the Authority has set up several committees to look after specific areas of activity.  For information on the committees see the "Committees" section.  To see the reports considered by the committees and the minutes of meetings see the "Meetings and Papers" section.
