John Woolley was first elected to Cumbria County Council in 1993 for the Mirehouse Electoral Division in Whitehaven and was appointed to the then Police Committee of the County Council in the same year. On creation of the Cumbria Police Authority in 1995 he became one of the County Council appointed Members of the new Authority and has continued to be a Member of the Authority to the present time.
John has a very wide experience of Public Office including being Mayor of Copeland BC, Valuation Tribunals and Employment Tribunals.
As a Member of the Police Authority John plays an active roll in its activities with a keen interest in Police Training, Planning and Equality.
