One of the Police Authorities main functions is consulting with the public.  Your views are important in assisting the Authority to identify Cumbria's policing needs and thereby set the priorities for the Chief Constable and Constabulary to meet those needs.  Feedback from you on the priorities that have been set and performance against those targets helps to improve services for everyone.

We also hold quarterly public consultation meetings in each of the six District/Borough Council areas.  Details of these meetings are advertised in the local press in advance or alternatively you can contact the Police Authority for further information.

During the course of every year there will be specific issues on which we would like to hear your views, for example we will soon be launching a new version of our Race Equality Scheme and preparing a Consultation Strategy and later in the autumn we will be issuing our budget proposals.  Full details will appear in this section of our website in due course.
